I watch from underwater, trance-like,
As my fellow humans destroy our home.
I watch from beneath the waves, detached,
As the first world shits on the third and calls it fair.
I’m cursed with seeing life’s injustices;
At any given moment I could guess twelve
Different doomsdays, none of them wrong.
I even see the solutions, rendered implausible by human nature.
I’m a cynical bastard;
I’ve seen too many things.
I crave sweet naivety,
But condemn ignorance as the problem.
I’m a holier-than-thou asshole,
But forgive me if you can,
For the weight of the world’s on my shoulders,
But Atlas I am not.

Funny how we both wrote about ancient heroes. 🙂
Great minds think alike, I guess.
Be safe, my friend!
And remember you don’t have to carry it alone.
